Testing the Android app

Thank you for helping. Google will only put Everyday Koine on the Play Store once a group of testers have had it installed for two weeks in a row and have actually used it. This page says how to join, what we are asking of you, and how to tell us what you find.

You need an Android phone and a Google account. It costs nothing, and you can leave the test whenever you like.

How to join

  1. Join the testers group, signed in with the same Google account your phone uses.
  2. Become a tester on the Play Store page that opens.
  3. Install Everyday Koine from Google Play on your phone. It can take a few minutes after step 2 before the Play Store offers it.

Stuck at any step? Write to support@everydaykoine.app and we will add you by hand.

What we are asking

Something to try each week

Week one. Do Today’s plan each day. In Learn, start chapter 1 and listen to it read aloud. Work through some flash cards.

Week two. In Drill, practise a paradigm. In Read, open a passage and tap the words. Use Look up to find a word. Try the app once with no signal at all.

You do not need to know any Greek. Some of the most useful reports come from someone meeting it for the first time.

What to look out for

How to tell us

In the app, go to Settings and use Report a problem. It writes the email for you, with your phone’s details included, and you can add a screenshot. Or write to support@everydaykoine.app directly.

Say what you were doing, what happened, and what you expected to happen. A screenshot helps more than anything.

Changes made because of what testers tell us are listed in the app, under Settings, in What’s new.
